kiss n horns

In keeping with the frelectro which is dominating TUKO. bust it loud, its got a cinematic trumpet in the back, i could imagine it in a terrible action movie, it would definitely be the highlight of any gun battle.

Bloc rockin beats.

Before the grungey, pounding electro sounds that to me typify sebastiAn’s remixes kick in, this sounds like a mylo tune. Then it sort of steps up to the task a bit more, I really like those opening moments, and it comes back a little after drifting with the “kiss you” loop a little too much, reckon its pretty good, its always good to get these remixes which tear up a song, like his rakes remix which, I wasn’t really interested in, but at least its different... NB. Apologies for the absence, I was waiting for a track to blow your socks off.

Beat on the brat

i have previously blogged kissy sell out, here i give you the song i always wanted from two artists. Along with a lot other people i have a soft spot for gwen stefani, and sticking to my guns through the whole yodalling excercise took something strong, and i never quite realised why i didnt hate that song, i think mr sell out must have been in the same vein of thought, with clearer creative vision and, as one hell beatsmith he played around till this came out. i reckon its about the first electro song to get my pulses flowing for a while.

Keep the beat slamming.

These are disco big guns, they deserve speakers, but they really sound great over anything, download...

Hold up, step up: frresh...... Juiceboxx, genre busting jams from this hot as, modern as outfit. dancing to it has given me blisters. check the old skool keyboards on the one with dre skull, its ill! much more rave than the klaxons (who i like) or shit disco (who i dont), or the rest of them new rave lot. Spank Rocktastic?

Juiceboxx & Dre Skull - Sweat (MP3)

I was expecting a calm one from the trentemoller lot, because usually that is the flow, but this one is a zaptastic groover, you'll be dancing, you'll be dancing, TUKO promise

Sharon Phillips - Want 2 Need 2 (Trentemoller Remix) (MP3)

New spin on an old classic? you know i like the ol' ed banger lot, here is a match up between two of their slicker recruits:

Kavinsky - Testarossa Autodrive (SebastiAn Remix) (MP3)

NB: The last post is still all good, dont neglect it. blaow::glamour

Some people think we're stupid but we're not.

Just had to put this straight out, an absolute banger, breathing precious energy into the original, which i grew to like, this puts MIA straight back to the sweaty club floors: glamour. Reminds me a little of both fat of the land era Prod and that My Egyptian lover song which surfaced last year.

M.I.A - xr2 (Tigerstyle remix) (MP3)

bitch i might be :: also got some straight talking hip hop which i quite like for the moment in the same way i like the second hip hop post i'll [put up that i got off fluo kids (good blog!) couple a months back ::

Gucci Mane ft Mac Bree - z - Pillz (MP3)
Monseigneur Mike and Nakk - Gangsta Rap au champagne (MP3)

also, worth a listen but not as good as I hoped Ti-ti-timbaland and the Hives match up. Inevitable if you ask me, once pharell started loving them (the hives) there was always going to be a collabo with some kind of US hyper producer.

Timbaland ft. The Hives - Throw it on me (MP3)

The Toxic Avenger

Really dont know a lot about this guy but he add-spammed me on myspace, and i checked em out, pretty apt at what he does. Taking the name from the cult film, of which i have not seen, oh he plays with a mask on, masks are good, but this one is a bit fear. lo
oking at the TUKO downloads, the boys noize sound seems to be rockin your souls, so here is another outfit putting out similar (maybe not quite as good, but still worth a listen) noise.

The Toxic Avenger - Superheroes (MP3)
The Toxic Avenger - Kissin (The black milk remix) (MP3)

(Also, we're pushin G's on the playa count glad you're all enjoying our sounds, spread the word, free mp3's with another-worldly beats) (also, i bought a really good CSS tee shirt last night, its purple, frresh)

NB: Kissy Sell Out 16fev LDS

Acclaimed dj, Kissy Sell Out is hitting leeds on the 16th, so here is the warning, cast away the valentines romance and mash it up with the best of them in northern light. quite a good venue but only really when packed. back to the K-S-) yeh, so the best songs are probably "her" and "Harriet" but i have posted these as well because they havent been released as far as i know, so they might be a bit friendlier to the man himself, who incidentally you should buy records from. (NB: i have no connection to him, i just like the music and am in a good mood). drop these in a set and i believe carnage will ensue, not sure quite where the loose cannons link comes in, but if you like the sounds of the last post, this might be similar enough for you, bust the reeves tis the sweetest>>

Loose Cannons - Girls in hats (Kissy sell out mix) (MP3)

Loose Cannons - Raw (Kissy sell out mix) (MP3)
PS: almost hit the g's on the playa count at the bottom, tell your friends... TUKO

neck breakin head bangers

I decided not to try and connect these soundsytem bangers with an important or reasonable thread, instead, just post them... these are three (+1) of my favourite songs right now:

dDamage - ink 808 (Krazy Baldhead remix) (MP3)

This Sebastian style remix from labelmate Krazy baldhead rips apart the somewhat cleaner sounds of Frenchlectro stalwart dDamage. Ed Banger is strange, because somehow they have created this incredible, individual sound, what some are calling "post modern electro". I see the point, it does do away with the minimalism and brings brave sounds and slices and dices them. Possibly the best example of this sound is the Franz Ferdinand song The fallen "ruined by Justice" (no need to post?); they definitely push forward.

Boys Noize - dont believe the hype (surkin remix) (MP3)

This is the biggest sounding song i have heard for ages, just makes me wanna put on my dancing shoes and slide on that leather. it at first sounds like your expecting a Prince vocalm, but then your mind is torn apart by this fiercely clean beat that pops up. Just as you think that you've got the song, and had enough though, these high balearic synths come in and the treble begins to irritate, but its so worth it when it drops again. I am reminded by a quote from someone i rarely listen to, Judge Jules. he said that 2007 was going to be all about sounds which are on the edge of being unbearably painful, but come off as anthemic and unnerving instead.

Does it offend you, yeah? - We are rockstars now (MP3)

Hyped outfit does it offend you look to be a big name in 007, they have their deal and they have their kudos, and with songs like this and wierd science, they can back it up. This to me is what electro should be, its got the thumping relentless beats where it will drag you upon your feet (it wont let you leave the dancefloor) but it combines it with a nice pop vocal reminicesent of the airy pet shop boys or new order vocals of the 80s and early 90s.

& something a little calmer...

Basement Jaxx

I have been reading a lot at the moment about the cutting edge disco music which Ed Banger and the rest of the French Electro outlets are putting out, although i am a huge fan, i think that the claims that they are the only ones battling the majors or more interestingly putting out "challenging" or fresh music (20jazzfunkgreats... good blog) is a little overstated. XL records have long been one of my favourite labels, putting out the prodigy for as long as they did is enough for me. The third in a series of going back/forward to the classics, the new jaxx album for me was bit of a dissapointment, apart from lights go down i never really got into it, and the Limited edition CD has remained on the shelf with its slightly weak dog collage garish graphics. The duo however have always been at the forefront, pushing their music beyond what others did with a bit of latin flavaaaa. anywayws, lollipop, here, its a b side but shouldnt be, its off the take me back to your house single.

As i roll with the prodigy...

The prodigy are probably my favourite band of all time, some part of their music has always been relevant to me, and i am glad that the experience, is getting its dues with everyone at the moment. That was the first album i ever bought, from my sister's friend, it was followed up quickly afterwards when i bought this promo single off of her too, it had what was to become Breathe on it. It also had this song, which i always liked but got frustrated with. undoubtedly its a good song, but the quality is so shoddy it really takes a lot away from it. Still, the piano is anthemic, and its got plenty of cowbell, its proper dramatic, see what you think:
