Tired of being sexy

Cansei der ser sexy (CSS), the hottest brazillians out there right now, having stated in 2003, they became the darlings of a burgeoning Sao Paolo scene looking to unleash a bit of cool on the Euro/american markets, they did it good n proper, this pop culture obsessed (name taken from beyonce quote, songs about JLO and Paris Hilton) tongue in cheek sextet have branded their names on many a heart. In BR they are pretty big (laying down licks for South American versions of big brother, the Sims and the simple life) and they are conquering the world with the help of a sub pop contract and and an arsenary of impressive songs.

Maison Kitsune 3 -

Allegedly, a kitsune is some sort mystical Japanese fox. It is also the home to some wicked clothes, they are quite boutiquey and i think you can only get em at the shop on rue de theresa, Paris. be there. However, for me as for many of us it is home to some of the best music at the moment, stretching its catalogue far beyond the headline Klaxons and SMD, its got big names and the up and comers, to be on their mixtape means to be glamour. I missed the first one, but picked up the slack on "kitsune maison compilation 2", it was stupendous, some absolute bangers, and some niiice calmer ones. Yesterday i picked up the 3rd hence this late post. proper joy, proper glamour. For me the frresh 'uns introduced to me were fox n wolf i hadnt heard of them before the second but theyre hot. They are the epitome of what i like at the moment, shouty bad rapping bad ass girls, a bit like Uffy, CSS, Amanda Blank, or the girl off 'colette c'est chouette', by busy p. Anyways, see what you think, hit me on the reactionary tools give it your props.

I was looking for ways to put some of these frresh tunes up until i decided no one cares about the chat, its all about the MP3s. well theyre here, giving the people what i want...

The Killers - When you were young (Thin white Duke Dub) (MP3)
Alter Ego - Tubeaction (Riton Re-Dub) (MP3)
Mystery Jets - Umbrellahead (MP3)
Billy Bragg - New England (MP3)

NB: I have been sitting on this for a while, but the mystery Jets song super hot, the first from Erol Alkan as their new producer. Catch Billy on the hope not hate tour, also watch for more Riton remixes on TUKO, they'll be here. This killers song is wicked, sticking to what he knows its kind of an update of the Brightside remix, which is no bad thing, hit me back on the reactionary tools. out.

linerider.com

If you are bored check this website out. its got this sick game called linerider basically its this sledge with a snowman who paces it down your course which you have to create through drawing lines. sounds shit, but the programming must be really sophisticated because the guy moves in a wicked way! heres a pretty poor example by the TUKO staff...

Dubbers.

I have already posted about skream, but i was chatting to a mate this morning, and we were exchanging songs its important to share these convos. Dubstep is like a quarter beat drum n bass, or half 2 step i think, i have no real technical music but it seems to be how it works, it takes heavy influence from most of the urban scenes but somehow it does sound as fresh as it is. Its mainly because it uses the bass and sub bass as its beats, rather than the mid ranges. Compared with other new london urban scenes, its more cutting edge than most grime, and it seems to have a real DIY quality appreciated by people outside of its influeces, as this documentary might help to show: Dubstep doc

Madonna and Stuart Price

I want to celebrate these two, i think they first came together through Price touring with Madonna on the keyboards, however it might have been through some co writing projects. The chemistry has conjured the smoothest in Madonna and the best out of Price (hollywood). Price has been something of an enigma in electonic music, with his different monikers and identities, he claimed once to have been brought up purely on classical music before discovering the Human League, and reps France so much he even went as far as to conduct interviews with British journalists in French via an interpreter despite being from Reading. He may go under many names, she may go through many forms, but together, they make great pop dance:

Madonna - Jump (Jacques Lu Cont remix) (MP3)
NB: Madonna is designing a line for H&M. Coming out next year. style:glamour.

TUKOTV

My Top Music Videos (no order):

I dont think Kanye would agree, his cost a million...

Kap Bambino- gabba gabba bleep bleep

dead french, dead bleepy, theyre dead now...

I am not sure if i like them, they are, like everyone it seems, a bit lo-fi/DIY/handhold console. i think i would prefer someone with a little less bedroom noise, fuck the glamour, lets do it glamorous, chris martin style abbey road production equipment.

Kap Bambino - save (mp3)

Van She

Remixes are what cures the ills of the world, especially when they are from these guys, will definitely be posting more of the Van She Tech mixes over time, a few of their hottest ones right here blaow....
Van She - Sex City (nightmoves edit) (MP3)
I am Finn - I love you (Van she Remix) (MP3)
Around the world again - Daft Punk Vs Nicky Van She & Dangerous Dan (MP3)

Adam Kesher

Kesher is a frenchman taking heavy influence from The Rapture, some of this is definitely quite good (the pedro & panama remix reminds me a bit of Test Icicles distorted screaming, or that crystal castles song xxzxczxme). Heres a preliminary post, there will be more to say one day, see what you think, download and talk to me about it (reactionary tools)...

Diving me crazy

Cristiano Ronaldo, i just thought i would put it out there, its hardly a new point, but its so frustrating. I hate him, but its so hard to, he is so good, and as often forgotten, he actually works really hard (as displayed by his work for Fletchers goal today, vs Middlesborough). His diving will always take the headlines though.

Dub Steppin'

I am by no means a connoisseur of dubstep, but thought it might be worth checking out, its basically from what i gather from musicheads a half 2 step beat, which ends up like low long driving bass. Its all big through its live scene, and this guy skream from croydon (LDN) is generally name dropped as the don, he is playing leeds west indian centre tonight. This tune midnight request line is really solid i think. play it loud...

Soulwax

Soulwax. The forebearers of the French (/Belgique) scene at the moment, between them and Daft Punk, most of the Ed Banger and Kitsune music all takes its place. They do better under the nite versions tag, saw them in Leeds and at the Vice Tales of Jackalope party, both times they pretty much blew my socks off. Definitely worth checking out. This is maybe my favourite of their songs...
Soulwax - NY Excuse (MP3)

Mission Statement.
